On behalf of the entire staff of organizers and volunteers, we would like to say THANK YOU to all of our sponsors, Vendors and Concessionaires that participated in this years 2009 2nd Annual Horsin Around BBQ Showdown. We could not have experienced so much success without all of your help.
We do estimate that over 3,000 guests attended the (2) day event and the feed back we have been receiving has been so positive that we have the “green light” to go ahead and begin planning for our 3rd annual Horsin Around BBQ Showdown event to be held on May 29 & 30 of 2010
Also with everyone’ participation and partnership Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa was able to make a $2,500 donation to the S.A.F.E. program, and also a $2,500 donation to the Family Connection organization.
We had 28 professional BBQ Teams at the 2009 event and plans are to add more professional BBQ teams to the 2010 event, we are planning for more teams to enter the Chili Corral Cookoff, the Kids Q contest and the Backyard show up and cook rib competitors. More family fun events are in the works and we plan to enlarge the parade through downtown Young Harris as well.
