If you want to make your way straight to the top, park in the lot and take the steep, paved, half-mile trail to the observation deck or take a shuttle bus for a fee.

Looking for a longer hike at this natural treasure? Trek the 5.5-mile Arkaquah Foot Trail that ends at the Track Rock Gap, the 4.5-mile Jacks Knob Foot Trail that leads to the Appalachian Trail, or the 5.6-mile Wagon Train Foot Trail, which ends at Young Harris College.

Bell Mountain

The vista seen from Bell Mountain has been called the grandest view of the Blue Ridge. At 3,424 feet, Bell Mountain sits above Hiawassee and Lake Chatuge and has become a prime launching pad for para-gliders. It’s also known to birders as a place to spot eagles.

The Hal Herrin Overlook was built in 2016 and opened with the dedication of Bell Mountain County Park and Historic Site.
