There is never a dull moment at Brasstown. In addition to all the amazing outdoor activities and soothing spa treatments, our hard-working event staff incorporates many cultural, educational and community events for guests of all ages. Some activities have become a long-standing tradition year after year while others come and go with the seasons. So, keep an eye on our events calendar and weekly activities to find something perfect for you.
Each team will be supplied with one 20’x25’ space, and access to potable (drinking) water. Very limited electric will be available and you may use your own generator. A limited number of larger spaces may be available, on a first come first served basis and will be placed where space allows. 2020 GBC points WILL BE earned from this competition and will be applied toward GBC standings. This competition is a Qualifier for the Jack Daniels Open and the Royal. Prize purse for the competition will be $7,200.00. Max number of teams will be 42.

PLEASE note that this a “cooks contest” – there is no general admission or festival attached to this contest. There will be Arts and Crafts vendors available on Friday and Saturday inside the hotel.
This year’s event will also feature a “Dessert Contest”

A room rate of $129.00 (plus resort service fee of $15.00 and taxes) is available to teams for Friday and Saturday nights; Thursday and Sunday night the rate is $89.00. For teams and judges Brasstown extends a 25% discount on any Spa Service, Horseback ride, or Golf during your stay. These rates are only available by calling reservations at 800-201-3205 and asking for the Georgia BBQ Championship Weekend rates.

This exhibit will feature Spring themed art from local area member artist with a variety of mediums ranging from oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, charcoal and photography.
This exhibit will show until July 2019.

Located: The Maxwell Center building on the campus of Young Harris College.
The 2015-2016 season at O. Wayne Rollins Planetarium features more than 30 Friday-evening public shows. Guests are encouraged to arrive early for best seats. No late seating is permitted. Public planetarium shows, with the exception of Cosmic Concerts, include a live-narrated “seasonal stargazing” segment in addition to the featured full-dome program. The Young Harris College Observatory features a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope and is open at 9 p.m. on the same Friday evenings the planetarium is open, if skies are clear. The observatory is located approximately 1.5 miles from campus at Twiggs Overlook on the exit road leading from Brasstown Valley Resort. Maps are available at the planetarium. Observing sessions last up to one hour.

I have had the pleasure of staying at many golf resorts throughout the United States and Brasstown Valley Resort in my book is one of the best. The golf course was in excellent shape which I would rate as a 10.
… definitely try the spa! We had a couples massage our first time and it was such a pleasant, relaxing experience. We also do the 2 hour horseback trail ride each time.
… every time we visit we make sure to include a 2 hour horseback trail ride.
The grounds a beautiful! There are so many great views of the mountains. Overall the staff were very pleasant and happy to help. We certainly will be back!
